Usability Test Results
Usability Test Summary
For this usability test, I asked David Champion, a lead tech developer at Wells Fargo to evaluate areas of improvement in my Audio Demo Page from Project 1.
I asked him to perform 3 short tasks:
- Play through the entire Audio title, testing the Play and Fast Forward buttons.
- Click on all the default titles, ensuring that each one takes you to the intended section of the song.
- Add new titles to the song using the 'Add Titles' Button.
Feedback
Overall, David liked the look and feel of the application, but noted there lacked instructions for new users. He gave three suggestions to improve:
- Renaming the button 'Add Title' button to better explain its purpose as well as adding a brief description on how the titles work.
- Disable the 'Add Title' button at the beginning and end of the song so users cannot add titles when the song is inactive.
- Give the buttons a more polished, modern look with more rounded, beveled edges rather than sharp 90-degree angles.
Changes
After these notes I have changed the site to adhere to my user standards.
